Hi, I hope someone can help?
I'm a Dad with 2 young daughters who both like riding on the back of the tandem fight over who pedals and who sits in the seat. I'd love to find a triplet bike (eg Thorn MeNU2) without the £2000+ price tag so we can all head out for picnics while mum is at work!

What about a tagalong on the back of the tandem - I've seen pictures of it being done. I guess a rack mounted tagalong like the Islabike one would be a better bet for stability but still cheaper than a triplet bike.

Alternatively, would a singleton bike with a tandem tagalong do the trick - have just googled and the Adams one is available again now for just under £300.

I used to use one very similar (older model) with dd and friend (up to age 8 & 6). The ride quality wasn't anywhere near up to our singleton Islabikes tagalong - don't like the seatpost hitch - and it was heavy, but it did the job. I'm also small (just over 5' & 7 stone) and live somewhere very hilly, so I suspect if you're bigger / heavier it would be more stable (and if you don't live up a mountain).

Just remembered my profile pic is me with dd & friend on the beast :)

Thanks, I had seen these going on ebay and considered it briefly but I much prefer the idea of all pedalling together (the girls' cousins have a tag along and they seem to be just coasting most of the time!)
I was hoping someone out there may have a triplet bike that they've grown out of gathering dust..

For all Mums (and Dads) who need to relax more, visit www.bananachair.co.uk
Apparrently they are just about to re-launch the brand again after it's been 'below the radar' for several years. The new makers don't have a price for one yet! But they will begin full production soon.
I can't wait to get hold of one of these fantastic chairs and my name is already on the waiting list...
