& I wasn't dramatically impressed

Whether it was because it was the end of the season or because they were doing work, I'm not sure; but it looked very neglected

The veg beds were just tatty, the hands on stuff were missing parts or not working; the cable car was missing loads of info it could have included.

The cafe was lovely and the idea fabulous.

I felt it was very dumbed down - I know children/schools visit a lot but there could have been 2 levels of information - it was all just an over view

Is this the one at Machynllyth?

If so, tend to agree. It's not all that geared to vistors I don't think, and maybe more to the research they are actually doing there. Which is great and all that, but it's pitched as a fascinating day out, which it kind of isn't quite.

Yep

I was quite disappointed

I would write and tell them. I know there have been a lot of 'management changes' in recent years - not sure of the full story but I've heard mutterings from people I know who work there but aren't part of the co-op.

I reckon its really worth letting them know, particularly about wanting more in depth information - it has changed a lot over the years and sounds like its swung too far in one direction now.

I've not been myself for years, literally (visited first as a child in the 70s), but when I visited as an adult in the early/mid 90s (IIRC they were building the cable car then) there was definitely lots of interesting stuff, as well as the bookshop which was fantastic particularly in pre-Amazon days when you couldn't easily get hold of the sort of stuff they stocked.

I might

I have been before but it was before I cared about the environment......now I felt it was a brief over view, barely more than an exhibit /room in a museum

That's a shame. I went there with DH about 10 years ago and it was a fascinating day.
