Rant about BHF furniture collection

Contacted them twice about decent pieces of furniture for collection. What a waste of time as they cannot collect. What is the point?
I wasted time submitting the form, then had a call, asked to send a picture of said furniture, no, can't collect.
I used Olio and got rid of it within hours.

I will not bother next time.

I also had an annoying experience - I called our local shop and asked if they’d take flat pack furniture that was already dismantled. They said they would and they had people to reassemble it. Filled in the online form stating it was in pieces. They called me to go through the form, I specifically highlighted it was in pieces and they again confirmed they would take it. On the day the van turns up, they say they can’t take anything dismantled. I explained what I’d been told, they called manager, again refused to take it. Total waste of everyone’s time

That’s unfortunate and frustrating for you.

I had the opposite experience recently. Filled in the form, received a friendly call to make arrangements for collection. Team turned up exactly when expected and took the item away. I’ve since had notification that it’s sold and they were able to collect Gift Aid on the sale.

BHF are incredibly picky. Won’t take anything you’ve painted yourself, didn’t take a solid oak unit that had some slightly silvery water stains on it (that I hadn’t even noticed). Good to know that Olio is an alternative

Yes, Olio and gumtree (although gumtree is full of flakes who do not turn up)

I wouldn't bother with the BHF again. I contacted them on-line, spoke to them, sent photos ... no contact. Called them and left messages, no contact. It seems ridiculous when the automated 'on hold' message states that they need items. I used a local charity in the end.

I cannot comment on collection but BHFs clothing/accessories/books/dvd pricing is off the scale bonkers.

Second hand top priced for more than new...I dont bother anymore
