Shocked to find that child labour is also used for this!
Mica an ingredient used in makeup to make it look shimmery. Apparently the majority come from India where they use children to go down into deep holes in the ground to mine the stuff.
I've just bought a extremely popular eyeshadow palette as a gift for my SIL and as it's soooo cheap I'm worried. Worth checking and reading this. I've emailed the American based company to find out where their mica comes from.
