we have an ethical dilemmas section now....somewhere

FunnysInTheGarden · 27/05/2011 23:01

I really really care, Spanish Strawberries are amongst the most downtrodden Strawberries out of the whole Strawberry race. It is your duty to support the growers of these poor fruit and also the fruit themselves.

Subjected their whole fruity lives to being force fed water to make them grow huge and tasteless. You may as well say AIBU to buy Fois Gras FFS Hmm

Joolyjoolyjoo · 27/05/2011 23:01

YANBU, but you would be better waiting for the British (Scottish) ones as they taste far better! Think of the air miles those Spanish strawberries have travelled- they will be jet-lagged strawberries, yuk!

BitOfFun · 27/05/2011 23:02

Are they the ones with e-coli? Or is that just cucumbers without condoms?

shineoncrazydiam0nd · 27/05/2011 23:02

Any views on blueberries?

Can't recall where they come from but they have travelled far and wide.

Blueberries are one of the most misunderstood fruit. They have to swim for their lives in lakes with men wearing massive welly boots. They deserve you support. Please please give generously.

And they are generally american poor poor souls

I have raspberry bushes, which are slowly and insidiously taking over my garden. Have yet to see a single raspberry though, just triffids Hmm

shineoncrazydiam0nd · 27/05/2011 23:13

Grin at funnys

I grow my own ethically organic strawberries and raspberries, but don't like to mention it, oh no.............

As for blueberries, I don't have a lake, an American or an ego big enough.
