How long for cancer diagnosis confirmation?

Parent (90) had abdominl scan 2 weeks ago.
Has had letter outlining way forward , citing almost as an afterthought suspected pancreatic cancer.
But no confirmation yet that this is actually the case......I would like to know what we are actually dealing with.
Anyone enlighten me what usually happens/ possible time frames please? Thanks

I can't comment on what is supposed to happen, but I can sympathise with your situation and hope that someone (your GP at least) can fill you in on what to expect. I also wonder what you and your parent are expecting to happen? Are they in pain? If it is pancreatic or another cancer, at 90 does your parent want to go through an invasive process? Or is putting something palliative in place going to be the more reasonable option? What is their living situation at present? And how close to them are you living? What kind of support do they have and will they need more? Good luck in dealing with this and I hope you get some help soon.
