My DM has been awarded fastracked CHC funding however the care agency we have used for the last two years is not contracted to the care board and they are insisting we use a new care agency. DM has cognitive decline and it will really upset her to change carers. I have requested a personal health budget but they are not being very helpful in how to progress this. Also they are saying DM only needs 3 1/2 hours care a day when she has more than that now. Some days she is so ill she needs overnight care. Does anyone know if we can still arrange and pay for this if needed? We seem to be in a worse position now than when we were getting help from social services!
