Do I go to DM special birthday celebration with a horrid virus

Hi,

First time posting here. I have a complex relationship with my DM she has narcissistic tendencies and is ofen mean to me. It's her special birthday today and all her favourite people are going. My step sister has been invited early and I've had the casual invite afternoon onwards (so already feel like an after though and not the golden child).

The trouble is I have a horrid virus and feel very ill. I dont want to go but am worried about the comments and guilt I'll feel afterwards. I also don't want to give the virus to my elderly DM.

I've called my DM to advise and been told she'll leave it up to me. I got upset on the phone but didn't get any sympathy. It's my fault for being ill.

Any advice, welcome. Thank you

I wouldn't go. Hope you feel better soon.

If you can dose yourself up and possibly get there without making yourself more poorly go for an hour. Give your DM a big performative hug and giant fake smile. Then get yourself home to bed. If your DM gets the virus as her "special" birthday present well that's just Karma.

How old is special birthday? If very elderly, then consider this may be the virus that finishes her off.

Can you show up and speak to her from a distance with a face mask on. Perhaps go in for a hug, so you’ve seen her, she can see you’re ill, but hopefully not infected her?
