Hospital beds for home use

Mu mum is in hospital, and has agreed that an adjustable bed would help her, and i/we think a hospital style on that hoe's up and down too is preferable.

I can see you can buy/hire them privately but also know the NHS can provide under some circumstances. I'd like NHS advice on what is needed regardless.

Who do I talk to? When? When they start discussing discharge? They can go upstairs can't they?

Any advice helpful. As you see from the posting time, I'm having trouble sleeping.

Assuming she comes home, though no certainties.

You need to speak to the Occupational Therapist.

The hospital discharge team can send out an OT to assess her needs and order equipment including a bed.

Thank you both.

The Community Nurses (accessed via the GP) sorted one for DM when she needed it.

OT assessment and if they assess she needs a profile bed (hospital bed) then they will supply one

My father had one. OT should help, they can also look at the house to see where you may need grab handles, commode, frames, walkers, hoists etc
