Hi,
My 96 year old grandmother is in a uk care home. She has requested not to be washed by male members of staff. The home have ignored this and told her there is nothing they can do. This leaves my nan physically scared and shaking asking me to stay as she does not Want the men touching her. My Nan has told me she has said. "Stop Stop Stop, I don't want you to wash me. If the male member of staff continues to wash her including intimate areas is this SA. To me it is regardless of Gender If my nan says no then it should be no.

You need to contact duty social worker on adult abuse . Right now . Along with the QCC who regulate care homes

This should be in her care plan, no intimate care by male staff but accept that can cause a delay in care if female staff are busy elsewhere. Not sure it's SA but it is abuse and you can report this to social services and the cqc. Does your nan have capacity to make her own decisions or is there health lpa in place. Either way the staff need to respect her wishes, this is the sort of situation why relatives put cameras in rooms.

Agree, contact the adult safeguarding team at her local council as soon as you can and let her GP know

It’s probably not under the sexual abuse category but it’s definitely abusive behaviour.
