Recommendations - Nursing Home Tonbridge Area

DH's uncle suffers from dementia with aphasia. He has been living in an assisted living flat with carers going in 3 times a day. He has very rapidly - within a week - gone down hill significantly. We had hoped that it was a urinary infection but he is currently in hospital and all tests have come back clear.

The hospital, understandably, have refused to discharge him to his current living arrangements.

We have been looking for nursing homes prior to this but it has suddenly become very urgent and we are a bit lost. We have never had to find a nursing home before and you hear such terrible stories.

We do not live near him and we have discussed moving him to a home closer to us but he has many friends that visit him in the area he currently lives in so we don't want to take that away from him in a move that will be traumatic enough for him. This obviously makes it much more difficult to find a home we trust.

Does anyone have any recommendations please?

TIA

Can you ask on a local next door/ fb? Or ask his friends/ church / gp surgery? Often they may suggest places and by omission indicate ones to avoid.
