My dad is losing his mobile phone & remote control increasingly often so I’m thinking of getting him this for Christmas. What I like is that it wouldn’t depend on him having Bluetooth enabled his phone, or even on the phone having battery.

I wondered if anyone has any experiences / recommendations?

Is it an iPhone?

Yes, but the reason I’m leaning away from anything like FindMyPhone is that he often switches it off or puts it on airplane to ‘save the battery’ & then can’t remember where he put it.

The audible alarm on FindMy will work even when the phone is off or with a flat battery.

What I really want is something that doesn’t involve anyone having to make any adjustments to his phone - it will honestly be much simpler to have something that can just be attached to the case, hence looking at things like the finder in my OP.
