I’m convinced that this is how our neighbour was first targeted. She was addicted to Wordsearch ‘competitions’ - did several a week - where you so conveniently phone many personal details at, what, £7 a minute?
After this neighbour was scammed (£100k down the drain for ‘tax payments’ on a £1m ‘lottery win) I read a lot about scams targeting the naive and vulnerable , including the fact of ‘suckers’ lists’ which are apparently compiled and sold on.
IMO a list of Wordsearch competition entrants would surely be a good source of likely scam fodder.
