Re scams and the vulnerable - please be extra vigilant if a relative is fond of Wordsearch ‘competitions’!

I’m convinced that this is how our neighbour was first targeted. She was addicted to Wordsearch ‘competitions’ - did several a week - where you so conveniently phone many personal details at, what, £7 a minute?

After this neighbour was scammed (£100k down the drain for ‘tax payments’ on a £1m ‘lottery win) I read a lot about scams targeting the naive and vulnerable , including the fact of ‘suckers’ lists’ which are apparently compiled and sold on.

IMO a list of Wordsearch competition entrants would surely be a good source of likely scam fodder.

Your poor neighbour. There does indeed seem to be a list that's sold on and often they'll try different scams to see which ones are successful. Then they often start on the "well get your money back scams". Looking at you DFIL 👀
