Lasting power or attorney DIY?

Turns out we only have an old Enduring Power of Attorney for mum. We need to get one for health and welfare sorted as she is now in cognitive decline line but still has mental capacity.

Can I fill in the form from the govt website myself and get all the signatures or is it better to get a solicitor to do it?

It's pretty straightforward
It costs £83 (or it did when I did it)

No need for a solicitor, we did ours easily enough.

We did ours ourselves (both finances and health and welfare) but you do need to read the instructions very carefully, particularly as regards signing and dating exactly as instructed. Any mistake means it will be rejected and you’ll have to start (and pay) again.
