Best possible Hearing Aids? Any audiologists around?

Mum has had Phonak Audeo Lumity L90 for four years now. She seems to need an upgrade now and I’m wondering if there is any more advanced technology available?

She goes back to Boots regularly for adjustments, but they can’t suggest a better hearing aid.

I’m wondering if a specialist audiology centre would have something more advanced than that available on the high street? Or perhaps she is now at the limit of what can be done?

Im pretty sure Lumity only launched in 2022, so did your mum maybe have Marvel or Paradise aids before that? (Those are the previous generations of phonak aids).

It's hard to give advice without knowing her personal circumstances and hearing loss, as the "best" hearing aid varies for each person, and better technology on paper might not necessarily equate to better hearing in real life.

Lumity 90s are excellent hearing aids and Phonak are a well regarded manufacturer worldwide. It might be worth looking at wireless accessories to aid her hearing along with the hearing aids to maximise benefit? Things like remote microphones or a tv connector?

That's really helpful, @meganna, thank you! As you say, it must have been 2022. She lost one hearing aid whilst taking a mask off/on. I had assumed they were replaced by the same model (just rechargeable this time). But clearly not. These have never been as good as her previous ones, which never made sense until now.

I will find out what the previous model were...
