Prostate cancer

Worried about my Dad (80). He was diagnosed with prostrate cancer about 2 years ago and was told it was contained within the prostate. He opted for "watchful waiting" as he had no symptoms. He has regular PSA tests and is on hormone therapy. The therapy has brought his PSA down from 18 to 12.

However he seems to be having some worrying symptoms in the last month. He complains of bloating, has a slight cough and came over really faint yesterday. He's trying to get a doc's appointment and is being sent for another MRI scan in a few weeks.

I know no one can say but does it sound like it's spread, has anyone had similar experience? My mind is going to the worst place.

I'm not a medic and have no idea if this is cancer related. As he's 80 there could be lots of things beginning to not work quite as well as before - his heart may not be quite as effective as it was, his bowels may have slowed down. Average life expectancy at 80 is 89, so you have a very good chance of having a good few years together yet.

Thanks @olderbutwiser - I'm hoping it's just old age as these symptoms have appeared very quickly. He's a very "young" 80 so it's hard seeing him unlike his usual self.

These wouldn't be typical symptoms for prostate cancer spreading.

At 80 his symptoms could be lots of other things, his prostate cancer is likely the least of his problems.

Thanks @AnnaMagnani - that's what I thought after doom googling. Hoping it's a virus or side effects from hormones.
