Dad spending more time in bed

My dad keeps going to his bed saying he doesn't feel well. It started with the odd day here or there but now it is becoming more frequent. 2 or 3 days a week. Yesterday we coaxed him out to come over to our house for dinner and after much persuading he came, and enjoyed it. But then today he has been back in his bed all day not feeling well. He cant descrive what is wrong when you ask him. Just says he doesn't feel well. He won't see a GP. Is eating and my mum takes him in cups of tea. Has anyone else experienced this with an elderly parent? He's 78.

I would think blood tests would be appropriate but if he won’t see the GP, it’s likely things will have to get really bad before that view changes.

Sounds a bit like depression to me. I have to force myself to get up if I'm not working.

Yes my stepdad did this ended up in hospital seriously ill because he wasn't feeling well and wouldn't see a Dr , if you can pursued him to go I would say to tell your mum to stop indulging him in tea but my mum was exactly the same.
