CHC DST meeting in early November - no outcome yet

Sorry that should read CHC. We had a meeting to go through the DST for my DF in early November and understood we'd have a decision in about 4 weeks, but have not heard anything. Is this a usual delay? Is anyone else experiencing a backlog please?

Hi, did you have the full DST assessment in November, following a completed checklist? If so you should have received a decision from your ICB panel within 48 hours to let you know if your DF was eligible. Sounds like something has gone very wrong if this is the case, which I'm sorry to hear. You should have also been given the name of the assessment coordinator, I'd recommend contacting them. If it was a Checklist meeting that was completed in November, you should have received a desision regarding going to DST assessment within 28 days. It's so frustrating isn't it. I would contact the person who completed the checklist or your local ICB office. Good luck. If you've not already spoken to them, get in touch with https://beaconchc.co.uk/ for advice

Our decision letter was sent about 10 days after the DST meeting. A few things spring to mind -

They sent the letter about my DF to him at his care home. They knew we had POA and that he didn't have capacity, so no idea why they sent it there. They also sent a copy to my DM who also has memory problems. Luckily we intercepted the copy sent to DM. Could this be an issue with your DF @measureofmydreams - could his post be somewhere else?

My DF also received a letter more recently saying that he was due a 3 month review and that because of the huge backlog, it would be carried out by a third party (letter gave details). Maybe your DF's DST is part of the huge backlog.

I hope you hear soon Flowers

I think you have 6 months to appeal the decision, if the assessment found them to be ineligible. Good luck
