My aunt who is medically fit be discharged from hospital has been admitted to a
half way house as she is bed blocking. She is elderly and convinced herself that she will have to pay for this circ £1600.00 pw
I'm sure the NHS fund this until a package can be put together for several visits a day at home. Will the time she is in there count towards her 'free care' or does that start when she leaves the half way house

Is it a carehome where they will assess her for care in her own home. Will she be self funding her own care at home.

My mum was discharged just before Christmas thankfully but there was talk of her going in a home short term while she recuperated
I asked who pays and it would have been provided for just like she's now got carers 4 x a day for a few weeks. I didn't ask if she also got a care package from care home / rehab hospital , if imagine it would depend how well and able she was after the short stay
