Family calendar app that's easy for DM to use

We (DM, DH and I, two iPhones and an android) use Cozi Gold. My mum has always used a date book but after a few health crises it was useful to know what doctor appointments were planned or had taken place and we agreed to try an app.
My mum loves her iPhone and uses it with ease but there's so much button pushing to get a simple entry in the diary, I'm hoping there's something easier to use out and about? Like if it was visually similar to a date book, and you could just touch the date and time and type a brief description. Not sure if I'm describing that well. Cozi entries seem time consuming, setting date, time and reminders all separately as well as entering text, it's too much when standing at the reception desk.
There's also no private area so you can't use it for things like Christmas gift lists. It'd be nice to be able to share what you want to share and not have absolutely everything visible to everyone.

Following with interest for my DH who is less technologically advanced than your DM without the excuse of older age!

Ha, good luck to both of us. There are only so many of those 'Best family calendar app' articles a person can read

We use Microsoft outlook. I pay for a family annual subscription. It gets all the office apps on computer phone and website versions.

And you get a calendar in the outlook app. Really easy to use to make a new appointment.

Is everyone in your family on iPhone? You could use a shared iCal perhaps?

Family Wall is good, and it's easy to add events / appointments.

Google calendar is pretty easy to use, helpful to link to Google Home or Alexa so you can ask 'what's in my calendar today?' Smart speakers make it easier to call family, set reminders and timers too, even control smart plugs/lights around the home. Family can also 'drop in' to check on the person.

There is also an app called Jointly designed for carers to use to share info about the person they care for.

Agree, this is what we use!
