Council tax

Hi . My dad has gone into a care home does he still have to pay council tax ?
At the moment I’m paying it and am in the process of getting hospital paper work as proof that he hasn’t lived in his property for a while

My dad has too, 6 weeks ago. I emailed the council to let them know, had receipt of the email, but haven’t heard anything since

I didn’t have to pay, but it may vary from Council to Council. There was a time limit. We couldn’t leave the house empty forever and not pay Council Tax

I have been paying the council tax for 5 months as my dad was in hospital for a long time
we thought he would be going home but sadly this isn’t the case .
my friend is going through the same thing which has been going on for months and not sorted as yet
