Mom's vision is blurry

My mom is nearly 70. She had cataract procedure done on one eye a few years ago in 2019. All went well.

Last week her vision went blurry in that eye. I find that she can be so stubborn. She decided to do nothing about it because she was busy. I was asking her to make and appointment with the GP and maybe they can fast track her to the hospital eye clinic. She attends to the eye clinic regularly. About every 6 months for check ups.

She didn't do this. She decided to wait til Monday. Then she rang the hospital but they didn't entertain her on the phone.
Then she rang specs avers and she got more help there and she was advised on the phone by the receptionist that there was no point going to specs avers because they will only refer her to the casulty department. She was advised not to ignore this and go today.

It is only now my mom has made an appointment to see the GP.

What is the likely outcome? Will a gp refer her to the hospital and will it be today or will she be able to get an emergency appointment by the end of the week?
I don't know what happens.

I am not in England where you have to wait weeks to see a GP.

She's been experiencing headaches for a long time. On and off and at times for days. She self diagnosed with migraine. I noticed some changes in her for about a year and it looks like dementia but I am not qualified. I actually wouldn't be surprised if there's something else going on with her. Like a tumour or a stroke or something or another.

It's annoying that she didn't have a retest from the opticians as they can see the back of the eye and refer to the hospital if needed
