Live in carers - insurance, other things?

We're trying to arrange live in care for PIL at short notice, and trying to make sure we've thought of everything. It looks like we're going to be using self employed private carers through an agency, at least to start with. One question is whether we need to change the house insurance if there's a carer living there? Also, any possibility that we would need employer's liability cover? Any changes in the house we ought to be thinking about? Or anything else? Feeling a bit rabbit in the headlights and would love some tips. Thanks!

Ask the insurance company about whether you need to change the insurance. No-one else can answer what your particular insurance will say.

Thanks, I realise that ultimately I would need an answer from the insurers, but it would be useful to have a feel for what the 'norm' is (if there is a norm), and also whether there's anything similar that we might not have thought of.

I think you also need to check with the agency. We have employers' liability insurance, but we are employing directly.
