Does anyone know if you can do this?
My parents are retiring to to seaside. They are in their 70s and have decided to buy an apartment in one of those over 55 residential facilities that has a lounge, restaurant, laundrette on site etc.

They will be 80 miles from us and we live inland. We will want to visit them regularly but are children allowed to stay in those type of places? We would want to stay for about 4 days

It's up to your parents to check this, different places will have different rules. How big is their apartment? If it has more than 1 bedroom then presumably overnight visitors are allowed.

Some places have special rooms for overnight visitors of residents. Get your parents to ask. I think they are pretty cheap too.

Some do, some don’t. Most have a limit, usually 14 nights. They may only allow one overnight visitor at a time too.

My DH’s Nan lives somewhere like this, she is allowed visitors overnight in her spare bedroom and there is a little guest suite to rent with a bathroom and two single beds. We have stayed there for 3 nights but I imagined limits are different in different places.

It varies so they’ll need to check what they’re signing up to.

If not I’m sure there’ll be other places to stay nearby,
