I miss my dad

Few years ago my father moved abroad, we grew up with just him raising us. (Me, brother & sister)

We went out to visit a few times then corona hit and now haven't seen him for 2.5 years.

He said he would come back March 2019, that never happened. Said he would come back for Xmas 2021, that didn't happen.

Every time we try and talk to him about coming home he kind of shrugs it off and says he has no one to watch his dog while he comes back...

He is 72 this year, has a history of cancer and meningitis, he has had no check ups for his cancer since moving (5 years) he is meant to have them once a year.

During the time he has been living abroad, my grandmother died, his brother in law died, sister nearly lost her life in a car accident, I had a baby, his sister is in hospital, and his other brother in law attempted suicide a couple of weeks ago.

What is it going to take for him to come home? We miss him and feel like he isn't there for us as a father, like he raised us until the youngest turned 18 then just left.

Me and my siblings all feel the same and are getting increasingly frustrated and upset.

I'm so worried about him, he's spent all his money, he lives on a boat that won't run.

Do you think that money might be the issue? Can you afford his ticket home and offer him accommodation?
