Well. Mil has reached the end of her ability to live alone at 98 and is now living with us ( both 70) she is a tiny little thing now. I weighed her this morning and she is 5st 7lb. I want to keep an eye on her weight.
Social worker called in this morning to basically say they have no space to help but will do their best.
Mil has been having a private carer 3 mornings a week for an hour but that was from 10.30am when she was still able to dress herself and heat a microwave meal.
We are thinking this is no use now and are planning to have one 3 hour visit a week that will enable us to catch our breath. The care agency has no availability for morning or evening and, to be honest, she is not a problem to get up or put to bed.
The last two years have been a perfect storm for us with 5 breast ops ( 2 mastectomies) and chemo so we are just thankful that I have my health back before this happened.
I have lurked for ages and posted occasionally but we are now full time members of the Cockroach Club. >
