Disabled parking bay but no car

My mums car was scrapped today. She has a blue badge and a marked disabled parking bay in front of the house.
Can the parking bay stay? It enables taxis to pull up to the kerb (her mobility is poor ) and my brother can park there when he comes to the house to take her shopping etc.
Tried to ring council today but very long waiting time

It’s fine. The disabled bay would have been put in to allow any disabled blue badge holder to use it. It was never your mothers exclusively

Same as previous poster, even if it is outside your mothers house, anyone holding a blue badge would and could park there.

She paid 150 to have it marked out by the council last year

I'm sure they will leave it there. There might be someone else locally use it if they also have a blue badge. I'm surprised they let your mum pay for this

It still doesn't mean it's her exclusive space. They won't remove it though. It completely destroys the tarmac for a start. And like you say, it will still be a big benefit to her.

In my area these disabled bays can be used by anyone with a blue badge, though highways don't charge for doing them.
In my area you generally need to be the driver to get one, so it doesn't sound like your mum would meet the criteria to have one now. That said, I am aware of several cases where the person who requested the bay has passed away and nothing has been removed/ altered, so if I were you I would just keep quiet about it and accept that other blue badge users may park there on occasion.
