My mum is around 78 years old

She has a lot of health conditions. Shes had a previous heart attack. Shes on multiple medications.
She lives with my brother and family.
On Monday she had a bit of a sore throat. Today it was worse and she also got a temp.
They did a LTF at home which had come back positive. They are hoping to take her for a PCR test tomorrow. They will see how she is tomorrow before deciding.

Now I'm really worried. She has had both covid jabs. I dont know what to think. We've been so careful with her.

Does anyone have any information or inkling at all. Shes had both jabs - are most people even if elderly recovering well?

I'm so sorry that your mum might be poorly and might have Covid

She has had both vaccinations and whilst she has multiple health problems none of which you have said are COPD or chronic breathing problems already - she is also under 80 which is one of the highest risk groups- she is not in the most highest risk group although probably still CEV? (Did she get the letters telling her to shield?) . You have done your best to shield her if you have

The reality is no medical person can predict nor reassure you what might if she did get COVID.but , the vaccines ought give her a level of protection and you sound like a wonderful caring family that have done your absolute best. Please continue in that and continue to be as kind and caring as you are and I hope if she does get COVID that she recovers ok. I know plenty of 90+ year olds with heart problems that have.
I wish you all the best and hope you can keep us updated if it isn't painful

Hopefully she will be ok.

Even without jabs most people recovered. The death rate was never more than 50% for any group - try to hold on to that. My 98 year old DF with multiple medications and previous heart attack survived

Just updating for anyone following.

Within a couple of days he fever and throat improved.

She is still having some coughing fits and a little tired but overall much better.

She started improving within 2-3 days.
