Moving parents whilst having hospital treatment

So, long story short, df is undergoing investigations for heart problems. Is under consultant care in Scotland (where they live). They hope to move to be nearer to me in Wales but seem to think he would have to start the whole referral progress again and therefore they can't. Is this the case, or would his care / referrals just carry on?

They would have to be referred again in Wales. Sadly common sense does not prevail in these situations where one consultant could write to another and ask for care to be continued. The GP records will transfer and they can refer the patient and send copies of letters. (Like we need more work to do. 😕)
