Resources for early dementia?

We think my father is showing signs of early dementia. He’s become v forgetful. He had an MRI some weeks ago but the results are taking ages to come back. Anyway my mum doesn’t know where to start with reading up on how to help him and how to behave when he’s forgotten something he’s just been told - I was wondering if there is a charity helpline where she can actually talk to someone? The local Gp isn’t very useful. Thanks

I know a lot of people have found the Oliver James book Contented Dementia useful.

Alzheimer's society have useful resources- and I think a website called unforgettable has useful products.

The charity Dementia UK have a fantastic helpline where you can speak to and get advice from an Admiral Nurse (specialist dementia nurse).

Thanks, these all sound brilliant. She’s quite daunted about where to begin.

YouTube search a woman called Teepa Snow. Her lectures are a scary watch but very practical. She’s got several about early signs.
