Efudix 5% cream for psoriasis diagnosis?

Hi guys,

My elderly father of 76 was recently diagnosed with psoriasis of the nose by a dermatologist (via a GP) and consequently prescribed Efudix Cream for topical treatment of the affected area for 4 weeks.

He's terribly scared to do start the treatment though, after having read the support pamphlet which talks about possible side effects including black boils and scarring. More worrying though is the proximity to his eyes and he's concerned he could accidentally rub the cream from his nose into his eye(s), perhaps in his sleep.

From the literature provides with the medication, he does seem like a very powerful drug and I wondered if anyone has any experience with it?

He keeps saying "this is the least of my worries", but I don't want his condition to worsen and rather he nip it in the bud now than let it fester and worsen.

Many thanks

Z
