My father died, and in his funeral wishes he requested that his beret from his time in the army on National Service be placed on his coffin..
I've not been able to find a beret anywhere in his tiny flat. I don't recall ever seeing his beret (though he showed me his medal).

I would like to do this for him, but have no idea if it's possible to get a replacement beret, or who/how I would contact about it. Can anyone help?

Try SSAFA. They helped my father in law get funding for a wet room even though he only did national service. They are on www.ssafa.org.U.K. Telephone 08007314880. We found out about them as a rep went round the local hospital ward looking for ex service personnel to see if they could help the practically. According to their website they will signpost you to where you can get help if they can't help you. Best of luck
