Hi, looking for some ideas please! GM is 100 next month, lives at home with her DH (younger), has dementia...

What on earth can I get her for her special birthday???

Any suggestions gratefully received 😊

What about a photo book with all the family photos and captions?
Was v useful with mil with dementia

Thanks for replying, I love the photo book idea 😊 I guess that's today sorted - off to the loft to raid the family archives (biscuit tins/ boxes full of pictures!)

We did a photo book and made copies for other family members.
Labelling really important! ( no pressure😂)
It was great as mils dementia worsened and calmed her.

On the photobook idea, you could do a separate one 'All the places I've visited' with photos now and then of places she visited and lived with a few interesting facts that would mean something to her.

Thanks for another great idea, I can see I'm going back into the loft tomorrow 🤣I should have brought all the "archives " down shouldn't I 🤣

You're so lucky! I've already done the family photo album and the family tree and he still has a couple of birthdays to go before the big one.

Have you arranged for the "telegram" from the queen? If I recall correctly it has to be requested at least six weeks in advance but not too early. (It doesn't happen automatically).

Hi, many thanks, my DM has the telegram under control 😊 We're hoping to get fine weather and have a socially distanced outdoor get together for the extended family...September though so?!
