Thanks for so much support, for so long

After more years on this board than I like to think about, I don't have elderly parents of my own any more. My dad died a month ago, and mum slipped away last night. Can't believe they've both gone.

It's been a long, hard haul, and I don't think I'd have managed nearly as well without having a place where people really understood

Losing both your parents so close together is heartbreaking. I hope you've good support around you today - I'm so sorry about your mum. 💐

So sorry Flowers

Don't feel you have to slip away. We're still here for support, practical and emotional, and some people here understand firsthand the mixed emotions when a loved one dies who you have been supporting as you have.

I'm sorry for your loss CMOT. I used this board for support until my DM died 3 years ago. You and others were such a great source of help and empathy.

saraclara · 26/04/2020 15:23

I'm so sorry.
I haven't seen your posts or interacted with you before, but to lose both parents in such a short time and under the present circumstances must be beyond difficult.
My condolences, and I do hope that you can find support to deal with this.

I am so sorry. It's hard losing one and I can't imagine how it must feel losing two so close together.

Thank you all. The saving grace is that I am getting good at the paperwork, and have a system now for dealing with it all. The house is going to be difficult though - I've never been there without them in, and they bought it in the 60's before they married so its going to feel very real

Dear @CMOTDibbler I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. I remember your posts, you were very kind to me when my dear mother was not so well.

Hope you find some peace with it all.
