Can anyone recommend a mobile phone for my Mum please?

She is 86. Her beloved Nokia brick has just died. Her friend recommended a Doro, but the model she has is no longer available. She just wants to make calls. Not interested in internet, camera or texting.

Doro phones are excellent for older people. My father (who is hard of hearing) has had two. This one might be a good fit for your mother’s needs.

Doro 6030 is still available. It has two single press memory buttons and several which need two presses. Big buttons for a mobile, simple screen, easy menu system. Clamshell design, so no need to press button to switch on, and getting back to home screen from anywhere can be done by shutting lid and opening again.

It has a panic button on the back which can be programmed to cycle round a whole sequence of numbers until someone answers.

It has a truly dreadful camera, and old-fashioned texting where you have to hit a key multiple times to get the letter you want. But as a simple to use phone for making calls, it's great.
