Occasional care of elderly parent

Hi, my DF is 86 and can manage pretty well on his own but with support from me when required. My problem is that when I’m on holiday there is no one to support him. My big worry is that he has an accident or is ill when I’m away.
Has anyone found a private company that offers occasional care/support in emergencies?
I can find it for my cat and dog but not my Dad :)
Thanks

The Princess Royal Trust for Carers carercentre.com/ can help with planning for emergencies. They work in conjunction with Adult Services etc.

We used them when DM was unexpectedly admitted to hospital and DF needed support. Gave us valuable breathing space until things became clearer.

There are private agencies and support groups who do offer the sort of help you are looking for. Adult Services gave us lots of information in our area and we were able to sort it out ourselves. Ultimately in a real emergency they will step in and put support in place. Age UK is also a decent source of information

If you are worried about a fall or accident maybe he could get a Telecare device which links into a call centre via a wrist strap, you can get them from Age UK. Age Uk also offer a daily call service where someone rings them daily for a chat and alerts someone if they can't get in touch as well.

It might be worth getting him used to support- perhaps a cleaner once a week? Who could perhaps keep an eye on him when you are away?
Telecare is a good idea.

Sometimes stepping back can get them to have to take support, I have found.
