Holy Moly! Wish I'd known years ago there is a US woman called Teepa Snow who gives YouTube tutorials for carers and family members looking after dementia patients at home and in care.
Mumsnetter @CoffeeRunner suggested elsewhere to google the 'gems' system for staging dementia. I did just that and then I found Teepa
Now I've spent a good hour or so listening tohelpful pointers for care staff and how she enlightens helps family members. Wish the care staff at DM's home knew about Teepa's methods.

I came across this lady a few days ago while googling and she is wonderful. So many great tips.

Yes, the tips I found on dressing and eating were very helpful.

DM really resists when we try to put a jumper or coat on her if we want to take her to the front door for some air.

We are also aware feeding herself, even just using her fingers has taken a big decline. These films are where she's now and I guess if my DSis and I don't know how to effectively support her our visits are not going to benefit her much.

The jumper one is really good. That is what sucked me in!
