Elderly parents

Thank you to the poster who suggested the "Home Instead" care agency

I posted in Chat a couple of years ago (when it went poof after 90 days) and so cannot identify the poster in question to PM.

I don't remember the exact nature of my post - but it was about an elderly mother in failing health struggling to look after herself but in denial. And how she would cope following discharge from hospital.

A poster then recommended the Home Instead care agency. Which I did check out and speak with their local office but had to file away as mother was adamant she needed no help.

But last year, after a particularly bad fall and when mother recuperated at my home, she could see how upset I was at the prospect of her going home, unattended. And she agreed to have a daily visit at lunchtime from the carers at Home Instead.

She says she's doing it for me, not because she needs any carers and she's fine without them - but whatever her rationale, the end result is the same.

Not really quite sure why I'm posting. But if the poster in question is on this board, thank you.

aridane it may have been me- I know I have mentioned them in the past in posts. Others have too, I think.
So glad your dm has accepted the idea of carers. Makes it easier to ramp up if needed.
