Domestic violence

I live a couple of hours drive from my parents, I knew that they were increasingly living in separate area of the house but I'm increasingly worried that there is domestic violence happening. I'm preparing to intervene, after years of telling them that they should separate and being told to mind my own business. Is there any advice or help available on how to do this? We're very much a family that doesn't talk about big stuff and they have always been the parents and I the child. I'm aware that when I do, either party is likely to be extremely aggressive but I can't let this go now.

You can call age UK, their local safeguarding team at the social services or womens aid for advice. Who is being abusive?

Try www.elderabuse.org.uk/ , lots of useful information and a lovely lady provided a confidential listening ear when I was worried about my DM
