Hospital want to discharge father tomorrow - all OK. Neighbourhood OT is planning an inspection when he gets home. What happens if his house "fails" the inspection? Can she push him back into hospital? Or into a care home? Can he say "no"? If she says he lacks capacity, can I say "no" - I have a Health and Welfare PoA.

She can't make him go back to
Hospital but she is duty bound to ensure he is safe st home. If there are problems will you be around to help? Why hasn't the assessment been done before he goes home?

Why hasn't the assessment been done before he goes home? The idea was that he'd be discharged asap with an assessment on day of discharge for supply of grab rails etc and a rehab at home package.

So what does duty to ensure he is safe at home entail? What powers has she to remove him from his home and where can she take him to?

Dint, is it worth transferring this to the Legal board? Just a thought.

Thanks, Grace, I was wondering whether I needed to start involving our solicitor.
