Wheelchair in a care home- recommend any?

Need to replace a wheelchair for my mum, (86).

She's less than 5 feet tall , weighs about 6.5 stones , double incontinent with a previous hip break. Advanced dementia means she doesn't take instruction when transferring. Looking for something that accommodates her small frame but supports her if she falls asleep and snoozes for a couple of hours. No real requirement to fold it for travel but want something nimble that can also be used outside as the pavements nearby have very few drop kerbs and very hilly..

Daresay I may need to visit a mobility specialist but asking on the off chance someone has been through a similar process recently.

I would ask the physio or occupational therapist to come to the home and assess her for the right type of wheelchair, you have to be careful that they are the right size. Ask the staff to organise this for you.

Thank you retirednow that idea had passed me by. Sadly DM can no longer pass a view on which chair she might like or whether she is comfy and feels secure. Will ask for OT suggestion and maybe try to catch a few YouTube videos once they feedback. Everyone else with a chair there has a different build and body shape.
