Elderly parents

I think I'm becoming senile

I joined today to let people know even a well known store has dodgy employees. I've written my story in the senior section. Sorry if it's in the wrong place as I'm new.
The upshot is I'm becoming forgetful and it took a week before I realised the delivery men who brought and assembled my bed also took several irreplaceable items.
Please look out for your elderly neighbours and parents. I'd hate them to go through what I'm suffering now.

Do you have proof they took your things, have You called customer services or the police. It must be very upsetting for you, are your family around.

Unfortunately no proof. The second man (very big) blocked the bedroom doorway and then, followed me to keep me talking while the first guy was 'working' on assembling my bed, bashing something. I now realise he must've been breaking up the plastic boxes that my things were in to chuck with the wrappings. I'm replying in depth to show what these thieves get up to. The store's head office should be calling me tonight but, with little proof, I'm not hopeful. It's the lost footage I'm so upset about. I'm not technologically minded so I never got round to researching how to transfer it to digital. I'm basically alone. A friend persuaded me to buy the bed and I so regret it now.

What do you think they took, it sounds very hurtful for you.

I listed it under 'Gransnet' as wasn't sure where theft would go as a subject. They took a lovely Mtarfa vase and moved an aromatherapy burner into its place. That was the first thing I noticed and reported. Today, I suddenly remembered about the camera, camcorder, jewellery, musical jewellery box that were stored in small plastic boxes - the type you used to get in 99p shops. I know there was a third box that's missing too but for the life of me, can't recall what was in it but something valuable. That's why I think I'm becoming senile. The problem was that I'd shoved everything to one side to make room for the bed so things were higgledy-piggledy. I just didn't expect this reputable store to employ thieves!

Have you contacted the police, it doesn't matter if it's a big reputable company or not, theft is theft. Have you had a food look round just in case you put them away somewhere.

Yes, police say they can't or won't test for fingerprints because the men had reason to be in the room and could have 'accidentally' touched something like drawer handles! They just don't want to know basically. I actually remember thinking the boxes would be safe as they were underneath other boxes and the delivery men wouldn't move them...I'm hoping now the store's head office is involved, they'll keep an eye on these two. I've been looking nonstop, even in boxes that haven't been opened for a while!

Thanks for the support. I just feel so alone right now and local Victim Support is closed for today.
