Stairlifts - any advice?

My 80-ish parents both have limited mobility, but refuse to consider moving from their lovely but totally unsuitable house. They are finally coming round to the idea of a stairlift, and I just wondered if anyone on here had any advice on good or bad companies, things to consider and so on?

I have a slight worry that inviting companies round to quote could be like having double glazing salesmen round (lots of heavy sales pressure) and I wonder if I should make sure I am there when they visit - parents are still mentally fine, but I think could be more susceptible to sales techniques than they used to be.

I would be present. Some refurbished stairlift lifts are sometimes available. Good luck!
