Any Experience of Wiltshire Farm Foods - Home delivery service

Hi - has been some chat in the past about Wiltshire Farm Foods - does anyone have any up to date experience of them - looking to possibly use them - many thanks - can anybody recommend any other provider of home deliver frozen food for aged P's

My mum (mid-80s, not very mobile, living alone) has been using them for years now. She finds them very helpful and they will put the stuff away in the freezer for her.

She gets a bit bored with the meals and likes to ring the changes so I take her ones from other places as well sometimes.

They have always been reliable, which is a big plus.

I've used them. Meals were fine, good customer service and the driver was very nice. Seemed good value for money.

My next door neighbour gets them, she likes them. I'd rather have M & S for the price though tbh, I've looked at the catalogue

I've used them for my parents, and they felt it was OK, but the food is a bit stereotypically old people food and they prefer ready meals from Waitrose (their local supermarket). So when things mean they can't go out, I do online shopping for them, and Ocado will put stuff straight in the fridge/freezer for them.

I do think WFF is great if you need to buy complete balanced meals, or the person having them has food allergies

My dad used to have them, they were ok and convenient.

My grandparents use them and are overjoyed with the service and the meals. I have to peruse the brochure every time we visit like it's a gastropub menu or something and enthuse away with them.

We were looking at this for my mum but was wondering if it would be better to have a fortnightly supermarket delivery which could also cover things like toilet rolls etc
Whatever we decide I will need to do the ordering as she won't do it.

I order online supermarket deliveries for my mum as well as her having WFF. The combination of the two has pretty much everything covered. She likes Waitrose but rarely has their ready meals as she prefers WFF for that.

She used to do all the ordering herself but is becoming deskilled (or unwilling) these days so I have to do it.

I've used them for DM and PIL. They were fine, although neither were over-keen - not enough salt!

Mum uses them and finds them to be fine and extremely reliable. Great customer service too. She does get a bid fed up of the same meals though so I try and change her choices for her and supplement with some home cooked meals.

I do the same for my Mum as EllieMentry. We switched to WFF when we realised my Mum's lunch would sometimes just be a small chicken pie with no veg or potatoes as she couldn't be bothered. She's tried quite a few dishes; is less keen on some and raves about others. She gets more variety that supermarket ready meals and has a full plate of food. I found WFF very helpful, ordering is easy and Mum really enjoys her visit from the delivery man

FIL raves about them. Not sure if that is a good thing as his sense of taste seems less refined than it once was, but he is happy and they load them straight into his freezer.

Dm has used them in the past but is now much more limited in wha she can eat so only has them as an occasional back up.

There's also Oakhouse which I believe are pretty much the same as Wiltshire. I don't have recent experience of either but think which you prefer tends to be down to individual taste. Delivery etc was pretty much the same with both.

Client of mine has them.
Plus side is that there's a good variety, they cover special diets such as pureed. The delivery is reliable and efficient.
Minus side - I heat them up around five times a week and they never seem that appetising TBH. They're also quite expensive for a relatively small portion.
