She was in hospital a few weeks ago with blood related issues, and developed a chest infection when she got out.

Taken to hospital by ambulance last week, had a CT scan yesterday to find where infection was as she has been getting progressively worse. They've found the infection, lower chest, but they've also found some unrelated issues which they want to discuss with us today.

On a scale from 1 to oh shit, just how bad do you think it is?

MIL has several health issues, she gad cancer last year which resulted in her lower bowel being removed. It's going to be cancer isn't it?

Sorry to hear this and to see no update from last week .

It's impossible to say from what you said " unrelated issues" could be a return of her cancer, or it could be anything. Cross the " oh shit" when you get there, not before , Much hugs

Thanks both.

She has a shadow on her liver and kidney, likely benign but needs investigated. It's not urgent anyway, which is a good think. I was quite panicked last week.

She is still seriously ill with a chest infection, honestly thought we were going to lose her last week. She is also delusional, keeps saying random things and doesn't recognise certain people.

It was her 70th birthday on Saturday, took her 4 cards in and her children were there, DH, BIL and SIL. She read first two cards off DH and our kids. Fell asleep reading SIL card and when she read BIL card she got confused and upset. I think it was because BIL shares name with DFIL who died 7 years ago and she didn't know why his name was in a card with another woman's (BIL wife).

She also insisted we had asked her to babysit and asked where the dc were as she had baked cakes.

Can't fault the staff though, they're amazing with her. her consultant looks like Martin Freeman and her main nurse is a very camp spaniard who goes in like Agador from the film Birdcage.
