Mum was in a good mood. She recognised me. Told her it was my birthday and showed a picture of some flowers I got and said they were from her. This didn't register - well i didn't think it did. The activities lady came in the lounge with a huge pink balloon which I think is a special one for the residents to try and hit back to her. She started with Mum and then was called to show a family around. So she asked me to play with Mum. Another lady (her birthday as well) said would I throw it to her. I ended up playing for half an hour with 12 residents. Some could hardly bat it back but they had a go. It was wonderful BUT the most wonderful thing was that halfway through Mum suddenly started singing Happy Birthday to you. It made me feel so happy to have a lovely time with them all and to see them enjoying it and to hear Mum singing. So my birthday did register after all.
