Care recommendations for S Worcs/Cotswolds?

Hi

I'm looking for recommendations for home carers in the South Worcs/Cotswolds area, on behalf of my lovely Dad who has dementia and motor neurone disease.

All I have at present is a care directory and limited ability to interview so I'm desperately seeking recommendations!

Also, if you have any tips on selecting carers I'd be delighted to hear them.

Many thanks

I'm in S Worcs, but alas my parents and their carer are in S Oxon. Dad found their lady through the district nurses, and I know theres an Admiral nurse based in Evesham, so maybe they will be able to help.

IMO, consistency is key - so you want either an agency where they guarantee a very small number of people or an independant carer - but I guess your dad may need more mobility help than one person can manage?

What has worked for us is someone with a degree of flexibility, who formed a relationship (saw the ambulance as she drove to someone else, went in to see what was up, phoned me to let me know), and who looked at the larger picture than just delivering the care they were instructed to

Many thanks CMOT, those are really useful insights. I think I'll give the Admiral nurses and Dad's MNDA volunteer a call as that seems like a good place to start. Thanks so much for your advice.

If you haven't seen it, AgeUK offer some useful services such as checked cleaners and handyman services in this area, which might be useful
