My Mum has less than 6 months

My mum is a young 75, my friend and the love of my Dad's life. yesterday she was told she has less than 6 months to live. I can't take it in .....my Dad has early dementia and Parkinson's. Not only will he have to deal with his absolute grief we will have to put him in a home......how cruel can life be

Oh Hearstart, what awful news for you. It seems so unfair when someone is otherwise healthy. That happened to my mum too.
Five years later I'm so grateful that I knew she wouldn't have much more time so we could make the most of the time she had left.
You will find that you do get used to the situation you're now thrown into and you'll all help each other to make this time special. Do whatever works for your family - there's no right or wrong way to approach your mum's final chapter.
Be kind to yourself and you'll get through this and manage with your dad too. You will probably surprise yourself with your hidden strength once you've got over this nasty shock.

Sweetheart I am so sorry for you, however once you get over the shock of this you will spend so many special times together and when you need to you will dig deep in your memory box and use them, you will find a hidden strength that you did not know you had but it is there within all of us. I was young when my mum had a long illness and then passed but I got through it. I sadly have lost my dad this week, trust me you gain strength that you did not know you had. I am on a rollercoaster of emotions at the moment but I know that I have the inner strength to cope with it - and you will too - you just have to find it. Sending massive hugs your way!!!
