Silly title as she lives there most of the week on dialysis.

Today she rang me as she had to be kept in, turns out it is a suspected heart attack.

When I got there she could hardly speak from vomiting, she was eventually given morphine and dropped off so I left.

she was in for 6 weeks only a month ago for pneumonia and god that was a nightmare, she suffered so much. I'm not sure she can do it again. Family are away so just me dealing with this.

It is really tough dealing with this kind of thing. Just do as much as you can cope with - and make sure you get some time to yourself to recover sometimes.

Very sorry to hear this. It's really wearing for all concerned.

Hi thanks for replies, good news it's not a heart attack but blood pressure is very high. Docs are considering trying a different version of dialysis through the stomach but shes not too keen and tbh neither am I.

I hope this weekend goes well for you all.

Hi Can I just say that the peritoneal dialysis is a lot gentler on the heart than haemo.Hope she makes some improvement and gets well soon x

Oh thanks Noddy that is good to know. She has since discussed the option with a renal nurse and seemed to come round to the idea a bit, only problem is the weight of the bags of fluid.

Mum only weighs 6 stone and there is no help available, even the nurse showed concerns regarding this issue, I work full time and am a single parent so can't be there to help as much as I would like to.

She is much better though, I think an appt with her consultant may be in order.
