Ofsted inspections

We got told today that our school will be inspected on Monday and Tuesday.

I'm a bit confused, as it was inspected in 2006 and was graded "outstanding", and I am sure I read something recently that said if a school was graded outstanding subsequent inspections would only be carried out if anything was flagged up.

But the information leaflet handed to people today indicated that inspection would be routinely carried out every 4-5 years.

Can anyone clarify what the official position is?

Actually, this sounds about the right interval.

Someone else asked a similar question a while ago and I made some notes from what I found on an Ofsed (or Government) web site. I didn?t make a note of the web site and I can?t seem to find it now but my notes are:-

If a school is found to be:-
Outstanding ? up to 3 to 5 years
Good ? up to 2 to 4 years (I think)
Satisfactory - Monitoring inspections usually take place 12 to 24 months after.
Notice to improve - Schools will usually be reinspected between 12 and 16 months after.
Special measures - The first monitoring inspection usually takes place between four and six months after.

==========================
Q What's the difference between an OFSTED inspector and a terrorist?
A You can negotiate with a terrorist?

Q What's the difference between an OFSTED inspector and a paranoid schizophrenic?
A The schizophrenic only thinks everyone hates them.

Q What's the difference between an OFSTED inspector and a haddock?
A One is wet and slippery, and the other's a fish.

Q What's the difference between an OFSTED inspector and a bank robber?
A None. Once they have done their jobs, they get away as quickly as they can, leaving devastation behind them.

Q What's the difference between an OFSTED inspector and a soldier?
A The soldier jumps to orders and the inspector jumps to conclusions.

Q What's the difference between an OFSTED inspector and a plastic surgeon? A Well, the plastic surgeon tucks features.....

Good Luck

Well, it's over, the teachers were all so stressed!

I wonder when we will hear anything?

You'll have to wait till September now. The report is published 21 days after inspection, but they don't count the school holidays.

But the Head and the Chair of Governors will know. The Inspectors give their conditional judgement before they go.
